Partners in Population and Development (PPD) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) are co-organising an International Inter-Ministerial Conference on South-South Cooperation in Population and Development entitled, “Sustained SSC Programs for the Achievement of ICPD and SDGs”. It will be held virtually on the 15th, 22nd, and 29th of November 2021 at 1:00 PM (GMT). This conference serves as a global platform for PDP member countries and development stakeholders for: peer review, knowledge exchange and experience, networking, policy dialogue, bilateral commitments and to contribute towards the achievement of the unfinished agenda of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through South-South and Triangular Cooperation. Internationally acclaimed leaders, scientists and experts will make presentations on how to deploy South-South and Triangular cooperation (SS & TrC) in a post COVID situation to sustain achievements in sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, youth empowerment and population and development.
The conference will be held in three sessions entitled as follows. Session one – “Accelerating the achievement of the unfinished agenda of the ICPD and SDGs during and post COVID-19 era through South-South and Triangular Cooperation”; Session two – “Triangular cooperation post BAPA+40: A multi-stakeholder partnership for the achievement of ICPD and 2030 Agenda, and Session three – “Promoting South-South Cooperation for Attaining ICPD and the Agenda 2030”.
