United Nations Day for South-South Cooperation, 12 September 2019
Today, September 12th 2019, the international community celebrates the UN Day for South-South Cooperation; the first after the Second United Nations High-level Conference on South-South Cooperation that took place on 21-23 March in Buenos Aires, Argentina. To mark this occasion, the UN Office for South-South Cooperation has organized several events as per attached agenda in New York. The most notably of these events include:
1. Launch of the independent Report on South-South and triangular cooperation, “Cooperation Beyond Convention”;
2. A launch of the South-South Galaxy, A knowledge Platform for knowledge exchange, expert databases and needs/provider matching; and,
3. A discussion led by China on “Moving from Commitments to Action”.
As these events will take place after the end of the business day in Asia-Pacific, we are not able to share most of the speeches, outcomes and documents with you, however, in the next few days we will be sharing any information that we have pertaining to the UN Day for South-South Cooperation. Furthermore, you may want to access the following sources of information for further information.
